- 14 oz firm tofu, drained and pressed
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup nutritional yeast
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 4 whole wheat burger buns
- 4 slices vegan cheese
- 2 large potatoes, cut into fries
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 eggplant, sliced thinly
- 1 tbsp liquid smoke
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Lettuce, tomato, and condiments for serving
Instructions
Follow these steps for perfect results
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Cut potatoes into fries, toss with olive oil, salt, and pepper, and spread on a baking sheet. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway until crispy.
- In a bowl, crumble the pressed tofu and mix in breadcrumbs, nutritional yeast, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Shape the tofu mixture into 4 patties.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and cook the patties for 5-7 minutes per side until golden brown.
