  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup nutritional yeast
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder

  • 4 whole wheat burger buns
  • 4 slices vegan cheese
  • 2 large potatoes, cut into fries
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 eggplant, sliced thinly
  • 1 tbsp liquid smoke
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Lettuce, tomato, and condiments for serving

Instructions

Follow these steps for perfect results

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Cut potatoes into fries, toss with olive oil, salt, and pepper, and spread on a baking sheet. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway until crispy.
  3. In a bowl, crumble the pressed tofu and mix in breadcrumbs, nutritional yeast, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Shape the tofu mixture into 4 patties.
  5. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and cook the patties for 5-7 minutes per side until golden brown.
